Miramar Fields Largest Team Ever for Bike MS NYC

Miramar Fields Largest Team Ever for Bike MS NYC

In addition to thanking those that contributed I MUST say a few words about the Miramar Ski Club Team. This was our largest turnout ever for Bike MS NYC and the fundraising has been phenomenal! It was a great group of friends that joined me out there and collectively we have helped many people with MS and those who may one day be diagnosed with it. The money we raise can fund the research to find a cure and rid the world of MS forever. Congratulations one and all. You are terrific and should feel proud of what you did today!

Not quite 30 miles but a 15+ mph headwind made it feel twice that.

Welcome to Miramar Ski Club’s new website!

Most of what you’re looking for is right up front: go to About to learn more about Miramar. Read the News to hear about what’s going on. Visit the Calendar and the Event Listing beneath it for dates and details of all our trips. Go to the Gallery to see more photos and videos, read Miramar’s History of emerging from the sea, and enjoy our YouTube channel to round-out your visit.

If you’re already a member and need help setting up your account this how to guide was made just for you.

Wred-alien-hihile we’re at it, a shout out to Ann Forbes Cooper, Sarah McGrath, David Wallenstein, Vlad Lascar, Tom Fleming and Aamir Toor for their help taking the old site apart, shuffling the pieces, and putting it back together again with a new design and a lot more.

Like most shiny new digital things this website is entering it’s public “beta” test. Nearly everything works but please be patient if you run into some dead ends. So enjoy your visit, and let us know if you find any errors or bugs so we can fix them. Thanks!

The Last Day

The Last Day

After six months of farewells it had to finally happen. Farewell Mads, it’s been great to ski (and travel, fish, climb, run, ride and party) with you!

It snowed so much in Canada last weekend there was enough for skiing and boarding in Sunshine Village, and we’ve got proof.

“One of those summer Alberta snowstorms! Not as much as we had hoped but we drove up to the highest spot near by to find some snow. Cant complain for August! Got to tick off 22 months of riding so far!! Hopefully I can find the snow in September and make it 23!”

The Miramar family thrives on the diverse personalities, stuff experiences and contributions of it’s members.

This year’s 4th of July weekend at the lodge was a case in point, when we hosted guests, members – and twins in training for membership – from 2 to 92.

Thomas and Thaddeus are already learning to be baseball fans and we hope to see them on skis for the first time this winter, while Emmy-award-winning scenic designer Harry just bought himself a new pair!
